Autumn Leaves asked:
A retailer violated my cc company’s policy and there is evidence they may have done it as cc/ID theft. The cc company has an online form where I can file a complaint if the retailer “displays the MasterCard logo”. But it doesn’t explain what “display” means. Does it mean on the door, at the checkout, on the payment options touch pad, advertising — what?

If you have grounds to dispute a charge, just dispute it using your lender’s procedures.

Anywhere. If they take MasterCard, then they display it somewhere and you can use this form.

When a merchant/retailer signs up with Visa, MC, Discover, etc. agreeing to take their cards then Visa, MC, etc. will send the merchant/retailer a little sticker or a small cardboard card with the logo on it. Along with the logo, the sticker or card may say something like “We take VISA” (for example)
The merchant/retailer will usually have the little stickers stuck to the doors or on the windows near the doors. They may have stickers on the side of the cash registers which faces the customer, cardboard signs on the counters, etc.
They generally place them in locations in the store where they can be easily noticed by the customers.
